Our Secondary Department is based within three classrooms in Falkirk High School.

All learners follow a curriculum that meets their needs and challenges them to achieve. They are supported by a team of Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People and highly skilled Support for Learning Assistants. Learners access mainstream lessons with support from our staff and also receive specific teaching in our base.

We work closely with Falkirk High School staff to ensure our learners are encouraged to take part in all school activities, including school trips and careers events. Every year, we provide Deaf Awareness sessions for staff and first-year (S1) pupils. We also run a weekly British Sign Language (BSL) club, which is open to all.

We have strong links with the wider community, allowing our learners to meet deaf peers and adults through our Positive Deaf Role Model and Workplace Visits focus weeks.

Windsor Park learners work towards qualifications at all levels that prepare them for life after school. They are supported by our staff to explore options such as college, employment, apprenticeships, and university. We work with organisations like Skills Development Scotland, Deaf Action, and the British Deaf Association to help our learners choose what to do when they leave Windsor Park School.
