Our Curriculum Rationale describes what we want to achieve for our deaf learners and how we will work with others to achieve this. It describes how our provision has been developed to meet the needs of our deaf learners who require a Total Communication approach and how we aim to develop the four capacities of Confident Individuals, Successful Learners, Effective Contributers and Responsible Citizens in line with A Curriculum for Excellence (see Curriculum for Excellence | Education Scotland for more information). 

Here at Windsor Park, learners access a curriculum based on an experiential, vocabulary led approach. Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People work in partnership with highly skilled Support for Learning Assistants and other professionals, using a range of deaf friendly strategies and reources in order to meet learners' needs. This document describes in detail what we do in regards with Communication, Learning and Teaching, Holistic Support/Development, Learner Participation/Learning for Sustainability, Planning/Monitoring/Tracking/Assessment, Ethos, Positive Destinations and Deaf Studies.
