Dalguise is often the highlight for most P7s when they are reflecting back on the highlights of their school life.
Every year the pupils in Primary 7 are given the opportunity to attend a residential trip to Dalguse. Dalguise is a PGL Adventure Centre near Dunkeld and the children are involved in a number of activities throughout their stay such as orienteering, raft building, climbing, kayaking etc.
A residential trip is a very rewarding experience for children as it gives the child the opportunity to develop as a person in the security of a controlled yet highly stimulating environment. The centre operates a plan-do - review approach which encourages the child to think and talk about their feelings and reactions and helps them to recognise their own and others achievements. The ethos of Dalguise is built upon the concept of 'Challenge by Choice' where individuals are never pushed beyond their comfort zone. In the past our pupils have found this residential trip a highly motivating experience and one which arms them with skills to support their transition to high school.
